Glenn Close, 79, debuted a dramatic new hair transformation while attending The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping U.K. fan screening in London on October 28.

Close paired the surprising, curly hairstyle with a moss-green taffeta dress, black leather gloves, and a matching cane.

The event marked Close’s first red carpet appearance since her hip replacement surgery.

Glenn Close is taking a page out of Effie Trinket’s glam book. On October 28, the iconic actress debuted a dramatic new hairstyle while attending The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping U.K. fan screening in London. Close, who plays Drusilla Sickle in the Hunger Games prequel film, turned heads on the red carpet with an elaborate updo that transformed her gray pixie cut into a District 1-approved look.

The hairstyle featured a slicked-back finish along the sides and a set of curly, platinum-blonde hair extensions piled atop her head. Elegant and whimsical, the final look was the perfect complement to the actress’s luxe ensemble. For her makeup, Close opted for neutral colors, black mascara, and subtle eyeshadow with dark green undertones.

Extending the Hunger Games theme to her outfit, the Fatal Attraction star walked the red carpet in a moss-green taffeta dress from Simone Rocha’s Fall 2026 collection. She accessorized with emerald statement earrings, a diamond bracelet, shoulder-length leather gloves in black, and a walking cane. The screening marked Close’s first red carpet appearance since revealing she underwent hip replacement surgery.

The YouTube trailer for the film, which dropped on November 20, 2025, offered a sneak peek at Close’s character Drusilla, a Capitol escort with a striking sense of style. Like her successor, Effie, Drusilla owns a vibrant, maximalist wardrobe with opulent accessories, which she often pairs with bold, theatrical makeup. In the film, Drusilla rocks a bob hairstyle with blunt micro bangs, styled by hair stylist Curtis William, in a light shade of orange.
